Other Details to Note

- If you have a larger group, Shiny Apple Cabins has THE BEAR'S CREEK RETREAT - waterfront, dog friendly, fenced yard, cabin with hot tub - available for rental about 20 minutes away; receive 10% off the second rental. - PEOPLE: Ensure all guests are accounted for within your reservation; we can accommodate up to 6 people (even if not staying overnight). We DO NOT allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not plan to stay the night. Unannounced guests will result in a $100 per guest, per night booked AND you will need to vacate immediately. Any resulting plumbing and septic repairs will be the guest's responsibility. - PETS: Up to 3 dogs welcome (no size or breed restrictions). We may accommodate additional dogs on a case-by-case basis, however you will need advance approval. No cats or other pets due to owner allergies. There is a $200 fee for bringing an unannounced pet. Ensure all pet waste is picked up around the cabin and in the community. Failure to do so may result in additional fees to reimburse owners for fines. Due to local wildlife, please be mindful of your pets. - DRIVEWAY: We recommend backing into the driveway. ***Directly across from the driveway there are cement posts, rocks, and rebar to prevent accidental sliding into the adjacent drainage culvert*** Please be extremely mindful of this (and the fence) when pulling out of the driveway to avoid damage to vehicles. - SEPTIC/PLUMBING: ***This cabin is on a septic system*** Bathrooms - Flush only toilet paper. Do not flush hygiene products, wipes (even if flushable), paper towels, or tissue, as this will cause a blockage and render all plumbing useless. ***Kitchen - Only liquids can go down the kitchen sink drain. Cooking oils, grease, fats, food debris, and coffee grounds must go into the trash. Use paper towels (provided) to absorb and wipe items clear. *** Drain screens - There are drain screens in the kitchen and bathrooms to prevent hair, food, and other items from going down the drains; these must be used at all times.*** - TRASH: ***All trash and poop bags must be BAGGED and TIED in kitchen-sized 13 gallon bags, then placed in the outdoor bear-resistant trash bins. The trash company removes each bag individually; no dump truck. Trash is collected Tuesdays and Fridays.*** - HOT TUB: The hot tub is emptied between every reservation, therefore the water may not be hot upon your arrival. The hot tub can reach temperatures up to 104°F. It will lose about 5°F per hour when the lid is off; weather conditions and use of the jets may expedite this cooling. - INSECTS: Because this is a rural area, we recommend turning off lights not directly in use as insects are prevalent and attracted to light, especially at night. **If you are sensitive to wildlife and insects, this listing may not be the right fit** - PROPANE HEATER: Turn off the dining room propane heater when not in use. - FUTON: The futon in the game room is designed for convenience over comfort. If you are sensitive to mattresses, one of the traditional beds is recommended. - WATER: Because our well has an electric pump, water may be limited if the electricity is out. Although we do have reserve tanks, please conserve water during an electrical outage. - FIREPLACE: To use the fireplace, ensure the flue is open by sliding the handle that's at the top center of the fireplace (smoke should go up the chimney). Fires must be attended at all times. Place all cold ashes in the metal bucket provided; do not dump outside. Do not use the air conditioning and fireplace at the same time. (No use is permitted May through August) - FLAMMABLES: No candles and no fireworks permitted anywhere on the premises. - LAWN CARE AND PEST CONTROL: Lawn maintenance and pest control is completed each month, weather permitting. You may see contractors working outside. - FENCED YARD: All of the fencing is reinforced with welded wire mesh, including under the stairs. But of course, be mindful if your pup is a little escape artist. - BOOKS: There may be books in the cabin's Take One, Leave One library which do not represent the opinions or values of your host. If you find something offensive or inappropriate, please tuck it away and let us know.

The cabin was absolutely wonderful. It made for a fantastic first trip with our pup, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Also, the view is phenomenal. We’d love to come back in the future!

We had the best stay at Elisabeth’s home. We booked it to celebrate our anniversary. The property is located deep inside a subdivision with twisty turning one lane roads. The houses are tucked into the landscape and there are so many trees everywhere. It’s just beautiful!! If you are going to be going back-and-forth from the house to either Blue Ridge or Elijay multiple times a day, this might not be the property for you, but if you are looking for relaxing seclusion and staying in this is definitely one you will want to book. Cooking was easy in the very well equipped kitchen. We loved having access to the wood-burning fireplace & hot tub . It was so cozy. Another thing we really liked was that they have a gate on the deck that will keep the dogs from roaming. There’s not a lot of flat area for dogs to play/exercise but we have two small dogs that didn’t need much. Our older dog has trouble with steps & there are a lot, so keep that in mind. Fantastic property! One of the best!!

This home is so lovely & perfect for a getaway trip. Big enough to host your family, private enough to host multiple couples, but also a wonderful size for just a single couple to go and enjoy the mountains together (the latter being boat we were in). We had our dog Mumford with us, and wow! This is *BY FAR* the most dog-accommodating and prepared rental property that I have ever stayed in. An abundance of treats, cleaning supplies, dog blankets, beds, and a fenced-in yard just to name a few of the incredible offerings for your pets that this Host provides. The location is quiet & the views are beautiful, even on a cloudy day. The Host was quick and effective with their responses during our entire trip if we had any questions, and I will absolutely consider this host and property again for future trips to the Mountains.

I have never stayed in a spot that the pups were so highly regarded! They had a great time and so did we! They left out nothing, beds, sheets, bowls, 2 kennels, everything. They even have an extra toy, lol - I couldn't find one when we were leaving. For us it was extremely cold and we are from Florida, had a fire in the fireplace all day the first cpl days of rain and wet. But the rest of the trip was great, visited a winery, Grumpy Old Men brewery, husband loved that and hiked to some waterfalls. Definitely would stay again and spoil the pups. Love Blueridge & these hosts were very responsive. Don't hesitate!

It was perfect for my husband and our three dogs. It's as described, but better than I expected. This was the most pet friendly rental we've ever had. They have tons of supplies for your dogs and the basement "play room" with beds and areas to hang out with the dogs was an added bonus. The cabin is high up and has incredible views, from multiple rooms. There was an amazing sunset over the mountains on our second night. If you're looking to go to the mountains with your dogs, this is your place. Also, I couldn't tell this from the initial photos, but the fence has boards and a backing that dogs can't fit through or under. I have a small dog that I was afraid I'd have to keep on a leash, but the fence was more than adequate!

My husband and I booked Sum Fun for our baby moon/2nd anniversary and it was exactly what we had envisioned for our getaway from Tampa! Quiet, relaxing, peaceful, space for our 3 pups, and a beautiful mountain view. We enjoyed that it was super clean AND super dog friendly - no dog smell or strong fragrance to mask anything (sensitive to smells right now being pregnant lol). We enjoyed the games downstairs together, sitting out on the porch, and visiting all the shops downtown. We appreciated how responsive and accommodating the hosts were and would love to come back! We highly recommend Mountain Mama’s Coffee, Las 2 Huastecas, The Sweet Shoppe, Rum Cake Lady Cuban Cafe, Southern Charm, 3 Sisters Fudge, and The Falls at Blue Ridge for fancy night out. Also for things to do, we enjoyed the private dog park for our pups and Cohutta Mini Golf.

The cabin was spectacular. Elizabeth was super responsive and would answer questions almost immediately sometimes. She was kind enough to let us check in early without having to pay extra since the weather was bad. She had everything you or your dogs could possibly need in the cabin. Spotless, clean everywhere and super organized with every cabinet labeled.! well I could say more but, I’m sure you get the picture! 😁

The cabin was very easy to find and had lots of amazing views while driving up. The view from the cabin was absolutely breathtaking and is very close to downtown Blue Ridge. My chiweenie also loved her stay and felt very included. We painted a rock for her which was so cute. Everything was wonderful from the views to the walking trail. The cabin itself was beautiful and in immaculate condition. There are so many fun things to do at that cabin that we decided to stay at the cabin one day and play games and enjoy the outside fire pit. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone planning to stay in the area. It is absolutely amazing and the host is wonderful, accommodating, and very responsive. The photos in this listing are extremely accurate and even more beautiful in person.

We had such an incredible time staying here. It was so comfy and cozy and the view was amazing. My pup had so much fun while she was there as well. So thankful to have found this place and can’t wait to be back in the future!
