Other Details to Note

- If you have a larger group, Shiny Apple Cabins has THE BEAR'S CREEK RETREAT - waterfront, dog friendly, fenced yard, cabin with hot tub - available for rental about 20 minutes away; receive 10% off the second rental: Airbnb.com/h/TheBearsCreekRetreat - PEOPLE: Ensure all guests are accounted for within your reservation; we can accommodate up to 6 people (even if not staying overnight). We DO NOT allow anyone that is not accounted for onto the property, even if they do not plan to stay the night. Unannounced guests will result in a $100 per guest, per night booked AND you will need to vacate immediately. Any resulting plumbing and septic repairs will be the guest's responsibility. - PETS: Up to 3 dogs welcome (no size or breed restrictions). We may accommodate additional dogs on a case-by-case basis, however you will need advance approval. No cats or other pets due to owner allergies. There is a $200 fee for bringing an unannounced pet. Ensure all pet waste is picked up around the cabin and in the community. Failure to do so may result in additional fees to reimburse owners for fines. Due to local wildlife, please be mindful of your pets. - DRIVEWAY: We recommend backing into the driveway when possible. Directly across from the driveway, there are rocks and rebar to prevent accidental sliding into the adjacent drainage culvert. Please be extremely mindful of this (and the fence) when pulling out of the driveway to avoid damage to vehicles. - SEPTIC/PLUMBING: ***This cabin is on a septic system*** Bathrooms - Flush only toilet paper. Do not flush hygiene products, wipes (even if flushable), paper towels, or tissue, as this will cause a blockage and render all plumbing useless. ***Kitchen - Only liquids can go down the kitchen sink drain. Cooking oils, grease, fats, food debris, and coffee grounds must go into the trash. Use paper towels (provided) to absorb and wipe items clear. *** Drain screens - There are drain screens in the kitchen and bathrooms to prevent hair, food, and other items from going down the drains; these must be used at all times.*** - TRASH: ***All trash and poop bags must be BAGGED and TIED in kitchen-sized 13 gallon bags, then placed in the outdoor bear-resistant trash bins. The trash company removes each bag individually; no dump truck. Trash is collected Tuesdays and Fridays.*** - HOT TUB: The hot tub is emptied between every reservation, therefore the water may not be hot upon your arrival. The hot tub can reach temperatures up to 104°F. It will lose about 5°F per hour when the lid is off; weather conditions and use of the jets may expedite this cooling. - INSECTS: Because this is a rural area, we recommend turning off lights not directly in use as insects are prevalent and attracted to light, especially at night. **If you are sensitive to wildlife and insects, this listing may not be the right fit** - PROPANE HEATER: Turn off the dining room propane heater when not in use. - FUTON: The futon in the game room is designed for convenience over comfort. If you are sensitive to mattresses, one of the traditional beds is recommended. - WATER: Because our well has an electric pump, water may be limited if the electricity is out. Although we do have reserve tanks, please conserve water during an electrical outage. - FIREPLACE: To use the fireplace, ensure the flue is open by sliding the handle that's at the top center of the fireplace (smoke should go up the chimney). Fires must be attended at all times. Place all cold ashes in the metal bucket provided; do not dump outside. Do not use the air conditioning and fireplace at the same time. (No use is permitted May through August) - FLAMMABLES: No candles and no fireworks permitted anywhere on the premises. - LAWN CARE AND PEST CONTROL: Lawn maintenance and pest control is completed each month, weather permitting. You may see contractors working outside. - FENCED YARD: All of the fencing is reinforced with welded wire mesh, including under the stairs. But of course, be mindful if your pup is a little escape artist. - BOOKS: There may be books in the cabin's Take One, Leave One library which do not represent the opinions or values of your host. If you find something offensive or inappropriate, please tuck it away and let us know.

My family (and 2 fur babies) had a great stay. I've stayed at many properties over the years and this was possibly the most well stocked of any place ever. If you (or your pups) need it, they have it Toothbrush ✅ Dog Crate ✅ Poop bags✅ Coffee filters ✅ You get the point. Look forward to staying in the future

My husband and I stayed the week with the goal of hiking & relaxation. This space was perfect for that!! Easily located around numerous hiking options & bonus was super easy to get on/off the mountain since we’re from FL and not used to that. The views were amazing with many options to sit and take in the mountains. We also made s’mores every night and really appreciated the firewood chopped and available for use. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals at the cabin. Bonus the kitchen table had a large gorgeous window to view the mountain with every meal. We didn’t explore the town other than hiking so don’t have any input on that. But if you’re looking for a comfortable, relaxing place with gorgeous views then this is it! We would 100% stay here again!

We can't wait to stay here again! It's exactly as described and our little pups loved all the amenities! The owners and hosts have thought of everything to make our fur babies comfy and safe. We were impressed with the fenced-in balcony and yard. It's a cozy cabin with a beautiful view. We loved the outdoor seating and the bonfire area. Our adult kids loved the game room. The roads to get to the cabin are typical mountain roads. We live in FL and did not find the road intimidating at all. It's a peaceful area and a nice drive up to the cabin where you are likely to spot deer along the way. Downtown Blue Ridge is about 20 min away and there is plenty of outdoor activities in the area. We enjoyed the hiking, horseback riding and whitewater rafting. The hosts were quick to respond to any of our questions. We were very pleased with such great service. They pay close attention to detail and have thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.

There are 2 possible routes: (i) an all-paved road from JoAnn Sisson entrance off of Hwy 515 or (ii) a predominantly paved road, except for a ¼ mile packed-gravel road when entering from Maggie Chapman. Level, gravel driveway. In snow, recommend 4-wheel or AWD. Stay with us again! Blue Ridge/Cherry Log, GA Airbnb.com/h/TheBearsCreekRetreat Airbnb.com/h/SumFun
